Escape the Artist’s Studio

Escape the Artist’s Studio was a live escape room than ran as part of Culture Days in October 2016. I partnered with the Toronto Public Library’s Maria A. Shchuka branch to create a free escape room that would encourage community members to enjoy the library’s space and facilities. Over a period of several months I designed and fabricated the room’s puzzles, while testing the room in multiple iterations. This was my first escape room, and I learned a lot about live puzzle design from its creation.


The room was a big success and a teams from all over Toronto came to attempt their escape. I’ve documented the creation process in a post-mortem series of blog posts to better understand the successes and challenges of this project. They can be found on my blog:
