Power Hungry is a game by me and Jillian Wakarchuk, made for FILM410 at Queen’s University and supervised by Emily Pelstring. It was made in Construct 2 and features music by Kevin MacLeod. Making this game was a great experience in both developing my understanding of digital arcade games and creating a game with a focus on polish (proper title screen, instructions, credits, and the like). We built a prototype in a couple of weeks, demoed it with the class, and spent two more weeks cleaning it up. I’m proud of the darkly funny aesthetic and the narrative thesis embedded in the gameplay: “winning” is unachievable.
